Euthanasia

When the time comes to say your final good-bye to your beloved pet, you will have a lot of questions that may seem to overwhelm you. Some of these questions may include:  Should I bury my pets' remains at their favorite spot or should I have them cremated?  Do I want to do this at the clinic or at home?  Do I stay with my pet during the euthanasia procedure?  During this difficult time we, at the Animal Health Centre, are here to help and provide you with all the information you need and want during this difficult time.  We have all lost our own beloved companions at some time during our lives and so we understand first hand how emotional this time will be.  We want to help make these decisions as easy as possible for you.

For our clients we offer "Stay-At-Home euthanasia", for the comfort of both you and your pet.  One of our veterinarians and her assistant will come to your home, and the euthanasia procedure will be performed in the pets familiar surroundings.  Your pet can be surrounded by his or her favorite things and familiar smells.  Most importantly, he or she will be with the people they love and who love them the most.  You are able to grieve your loss and say goodbye to them in the privacy of your own home.

​A "Stay-At-Home Euthanasia" is not for everyone. For clients who choose to have their pet euthanized at our hospital we have a comfortable room with a private exit door.  This room has been designed with you and your companion animal in mind.  Our goal is to make this difficult time as peaceful as possible.
